OUR STORY

Humble beginnings

Our beginning was Wright's Furniture & Hardware. It was located at 118 S. Collins St. in downtown Plant City. The store was my great grandfathers, Ferris S. Wright.  He opened the store in the early 1920's & and operated it until the time of his death in 1936. It was located across from the Plant City Auto Supply and Hagan's Lunch, which is now Snellgrove's Restaurant. In the photo on the left is Ross Wright, the brother of my great grandfather. On the right is Ferris Wright's son in-law Marcus W. Waller Jr. (My Grandfather) who in the 1950's purchased the store and renamed it Waller's Hardware.

"We Buy, Sell, Or Trade Anything From A Needle To

A Battleship, Except For Used Dentures And Coffins"

This business slogan hung in front of Wright's Furniture & Hardware Store

Country Village History

Country Village Power Equipment all started back in 1989 when I opened up shop at the corner of Paul Buchman and Sam Allen Rd in Plant City, Florida. It was a small beginning, but I knew we could do something great for the community I grew up in. In 2003, as things started growing, we opened a second location in Webster to serve the surrounding areas and The Villages. Then, in 2011, we had outgrown our original spot, so we moved our Plant City store to Frontage Road, right off of I-4 at Exit 22. With the move, we rebranded and became I-4 Power Equipment.

Over the years, we've always been focused on bringing in the best for our customers. That's why we became certified dealers for Yamaha Golf Cars and Stihl power equipment. These brands are just like us—committed to quality, reliability, and taking care of their customers.

Now, I get to work every day with my daughter, Marci, and her husband, Matty. Our mission has always stayed the same: to serve our community with the best prices and outstanding customer service. We want every customer who walks through our doors to feel like family. We want them to know that when they leave, they’re not just a customer—they’re someone we truly care about and appreciate.
